Human/Nature Collection

Human/Nature explores the evolving relationship between the built environment and the natural world. Created along rivers, lakes, coastlines, and industrial landscapes throughout the Gulf Coast, the photographs focus on places where human intervention and natural processes intersect.

Weathered structures, utility remnants, navigation markers, and other traces of human presence become subjects of quiet reflection rather than documentation. Isolated within expansive landscapes, these elements reveal both our desire to shape the environment and nature’s enduring capacity to reclaim, transform, and adapt.

Through minimalist compositions, long exposures, and an emphasis on atmosphere, the work reduces each scene to its essential forms. The resulting images invite contemplation of scale, time, and impermanence while blurring the distinction between what is natural and what is constructed. Human/Nature is ultimately a meditation on coexistence—an exploration of the delicate and ever-changing balance between humanity and the landscapes we inhabit.
